Privacy Policy
Effective date: June 12, 2026
This policy describes what data HourLedger (https://hourledger.com) collects and how it is used. The short version: your timesheet entries never leave your device, and the site has no accounts.
Calculator entries
Everything you type into a calculator — dates, clock-in/out times, breaks, pay rates — is processed entirely in your browser. It is saved to your browser's localStorage on your device so it survives a page refresh, and it is never transmitted to our servers or anyone else's. Using the calculator's “Clear” button, or clearing your browser's site data, deletes it permanently. We could not recover your entries if we wanted to, because we never receive them.
Accounts and personal information
There are no accounts, sign-ups, or forms on this site. We do not collect names, email addresses, or any personal information — unless you choose to email us, in which case we use your message and address only to reply.
Server logs
Like virtually every website, our hosting provider records standard technical logs for requests (such as IP address, browser type, pages requested, and timestamps) for security and reliability purposes. These logs are not used to identify visitors and are retained only as long as the hosting provider's standard policy requires.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics to understand aggregate usage — which pages are visited and how often. Google Analytics may set cookies and collects technical data such as approximate location, device, and browser type; see how Google uses this data. Analytics data is aggregate and statistical; it never includes anything you type into a calculator. Your browser's cookie controls and ad/tracking blockers apply normally.
Advertising and affiliate links
The site currently shows no advertising. If we introduce ads (for example, Google AdSense) or affiliate links in the future to cover costs, third-party vendors may use cookies to serve ads based on prior visits to this or other websites, and affiliate links will be clearly disclosed where they appear. This policy will be updated before any such change, and the effective date above will be revised.
Children's privacy
This site is a general-audience tool and does not knowingly collect any information from children under 13.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with an updated effective date.
